I will never be able to express in words what Rachel does for our family. It is such a gift that she gives. I absolutely loved the medley of flavors and colors. Exactly what my body needs. Rachel has been a personal chef for our family for two years and has consistently created beautiful, healthy, varied dinners for us. We love to count how many vegetables she is able to put into a single meal and in ways I would never have thought of. Her warm peaceful presence is always a welcome energy in our home.
I love cooking and love taking cooking classes. I have tried many cooking classes from places like Whole Foods and Central Market to culinary school classes for general public to cooking classes from independent chefs. Chef Rachel’s classes are by far my favorite. Her classes are hands-on. Her recipes are practical (ingredients can be found from a normal grocery store and dishes can be made in reasonable amount of time). Her dishes are healthy AND delicious! And everyone gets to taste the dishes from the class at the end of the class. I use more recipes from her classes than any other cooking classes that I have taken in the past! And my kids also LOVE the dishes that I learn from her classes. I look forward to learning more dishes from her classes in the future.
Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us. I have learned from you that kindness is another flavoring of food. I know you will continue to be successful in bringing health, knowledge, and great food to lots of people.
This past week went by so fast and wrapped up our Macrobiotic unit all too quickly. One of my favorite highlights is the daily Do-in (self-shiatsu) exercise we do in class every day. It makes my body feel more centered, relaxed, and refreshingly awake to start our day of lecture and cooking labs. I find myself wanting to do those exercises at home now even when not in class. So thank you Chef Rachel for teaching us this great practice and so many other wonderful skills!
Rachel nourished us during our retreat, allowing us time and focus to go inward. Thank you for caring for our many needs, for clean, delicious, sustenance, and for your calm, sweet presence.
