Staying Healthy in 2016- Keep it Simple and Balanced

In my work as a macrobiotic chef, instructor, and health counselor, I get questions just about every day about what to do for specific health conditions. Some examples include:

“What diet adjustments should I make if I have or want to prevent colon cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, or another type of cancer?”

“What should I do to prevent heart disease, because I have a family history of high blood pressure and heart attacks?”

“Is it possible to reverse hypoglycemia or diabetes?”

Although I probably would make specific recommendations to each individual based on their unique constitution and particular health challenges, there are some things that I think every person can do on a daily basis to stay healthy or improve their overall health. These recommendations are simple, in most cases don’t cost money (not above and beyond what you’d spend on food anyway), and have been proven to be effective
