What is a Health and Diet Coach?
As your health and diet coach, I am here to educate, motivate, and support you to achieve and maintain lifelong health. My aim is to give you insight into your condition from a holistic perspective and give you diet and lifestyle options to choose from, while challenging you to listen to your inner wisdom and values.
I will not be replacing your doctor, nor will I prescribe things for you to do or take. Rather, in getting to know you as an individual, I will give recommendations and tools for best health practices to empower you to improve your own health. The doing of healing will be up to you. I’m here to help you take the first steps towards reclaiming your health and taking it back into your own hands.

Perhaps you want to lose weight. Or maybe you’ve been trying to cut out gluten, dairy, or refined sugars from your diet. Maybe you’re having fatigue or stomach bloating. Or you just simply want to make better food choices, or help in navigating the confusing landscape of diets and natural food options. You’ve tried gyms, gone to bookstores, strolled the aisles of health food stores, and browsed the internet, all in search of information and guidance.

You will have someone to help keep you on track, hold you accountable, and be there for you when you need advice and encouragement. Working on your health becomes less of a chore, and more of a choice, when you know the reasons behind your new practices and you’ve got someone cheering you on.
What's Unique About Rachel's Coaching?
At age 45, I feel stronger, more empowered, and healthier than I did in my 20s. It has been quite a journey. There were times when I felt anxiety, depression, and despair over the severity of my health issues. It didn’t even seem possible that I would be able to regain my health.
But thankfully, I never completely lost hope. When I was 29, I attended my first yoga class and had my first macrobiotic meal. I spent the next many years becoming a certified natural foods chef and macrobiotic counselor, while learning how to heal myself.
My healing journey that has lifted me out of pain and helped me create a life of health, happiness, and balance— which is achieved by daily decisions and actions. Now, I give support to others others on their journey to health. I believe that each day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and heal, and we should take the opportunity to do our best at making these things happen for ourselves and others.
Since 2006, I’ve been cooking for individuals and families wanting to eat better and regain their health. I’ve worked with clients with health conditions as varied as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, digestive problems, and thyroid dysfunction, as well as different life stages such as pregnancy and post-partum. I also specialize in helping people remove gluten, dairy, soy, corn, nuts, and/or refined sugar from their diets, while adding in nutritious foods to replace them. Most importantly, I help people create more balance in their every day lives, which is a key to nearly every aspect of health.
In addition to my experience as a healing chef and culinary instructor, I have certifications in Macrobiotic Health Counseling, Macrobiotic Studies and Natural Foods Cooking, and Yoga Teaching, and a Masters degree in Biology/Ecology and Evolution.
With a 12-year old daughter, I have first hand experience balancing work and family while also putting delicious and nutritious meals on the dinner table without a lot of fuss. In my years working with culinary students and clients, I have learned a lot about what works, what doesn’t, and how to focus on the things that really matter to make living healthier a reality.

How It Works
Here’s how I describe the health coaching process:
“In our 30-minute complimentary phone session, we’ll discuss your health and wellness goals and see if we are a good fit. Once we begin our work together we’ll create a practical plan to get you going in the direction of feeling your best. I’ll be with you every step of the way, providing healthy and easy recipes, cooking tips, nutritional education, and holistic health tips.
The truth is there is no “one diet fits all.” While working together, everything gets taken into account, looking at you as a whole person, and the options that will help you most. This means that we’ll examine lifestyle, body type, activity level, age, limiting beliefs, sense of self-worth, and many other factors.

Prices and Packages
This is perfect for someone who wants to dip their toes into the health and wellness world. This is also great for someone who already has a good understanding of their health, but needs a “jumpstart.”
Investment: $500 USD
The "Let's Get Serious"
This package is designed for the person who is sick and tired of being sick and tired. If you’re fed up with your current state of health and ready to take action, this plan is for you.
Investment: $1500 USD
This is for the person who is curious about using a health and diet coach, but not ready to commit to a larger plan. This is also for the person who has previously had sessions with Rachel but needs a little more time with her to answer questions and get more assistance.
Investment: $150 USD Per Hour
